Reading plan

Revelation reading guide

Five weeks through Revelation, with a practice and a question for your community each week. Read alongside the series, on your own or together.

5 weeks · begins November 1 · through November 30

  1. November 1 to 7 · See Jesus

    Silence with Jesus

Revelation is first and foremost a revelation of Jesus Christ. Before we try to understand the visions, we need to see the One at the center of them.

    Practice · Silence with Jesus

Spend 10 minutes in silence with Jesus. Before asking Him to do anything, simply be with Him. Ask, Jesus, what do You want me to see about You?

    Talk about it together

What is the difference between doing things for Jesus and actually remaining close to Jesus?

  2. November 8 to 14 · Worship the right king

    A fast from distraction

Everyone is being formed by something, and everyone gives their allegiance to something. Revelation invites us to see the world from heaven's perspective and to worship the One who alone is worthy.

Practice · A fast from distraction

Practice an intentional fast from something that regularly captures your attention, such as social media, entertainment, or unnecessary spending. Use that time to worship, pray, or serve someone.

    Talk about it together

What competing kingdoms or cultural values are most tempting for Christians to give their allegiance to today?

  3. November 15 to 21 · Remain faithful

    Examine your allegiances

Following Jesus requires endurance. Revelation reveals the spiritual conflict beneath the world's systems and calls God's people to faithful witness rather than compromise.

    Practice · Examine your allegiances

Ask yourself what shapes your understanding of success, security, and identity. Ask where you are tempted to compromise your faith to fit in. Ask what faithful witness to Jesus would look like in your workplace, neighborhood, or relationships this week.

    Talk about it together

How can we remain faithful to Jesus without becoming fearful, hostile, or withdrawn from the world He loves?

  4. November 22 to 28 · Come and follow the Lamb

    Faithful resistance

Revelation challenges us to discern the systems that oppose God's kingdom and to refuse participation in their destructive ways. God's people are called to faithful resistance, patient hope, and wholehearted allegiance to Jesus.

    Practice · Faithful resistance

Choose one tangible way to resist a destructive cultural pattern. This might mean practicing generosity instead of greed, pursuing reconciliation instead of retaliation, choosing contentment instead of comparison, or standing with someone who is overlooked or exploited.

    Talk about it together

What would it look like for New Culture Church to embody the values of God's kingdom rather than simply reflect the values of the surrounding culture?

    Pray

On November 26, Thanksgiving, take time to thank God for the promise that evil, injustice, and death will not have the final word. Let gratitude become an act of resistance against fear and despair.

  5. November 29 to 30 · All things made new

    All things made new

The story does not end with the destruction of the world but with God's renewed creation, His presence among His people, and the healing of the nations. Christian hope is not an escape from creation. It is the promise of creation made new.
